# Welcome to ROADRUNR

By 2030, it is expected our global population will add another 1 billion people on this earth (8.5 billion) with 66% of the population/car owners centred around urban areas[**¹**](https://www.mynrma.com.au/-/media/documents/reports-and-subs/the-future-of-car-ownership.pdf?la=en). The implications of this concentrated increase in vehicles are many resulting in both infrastructure challenges and sustainability challenges that must be addressed. Vehicle emissions and inefficiencies in the way we travel are contributing to the current climate crisis facing our planet. In addition, every year car accidents and collisions cause over 1 million preventable deaths and 50 million injuries[²](https://www.who.int/publications/i/item/world-report-on-road-traffic-injury-prevention).

There is an urgent need for innovation on a multitude of levels to deliver holistic mobility solutions to tackle these problems. Car connected data will be key to delivering effective mobility solutions that can address the issues discussed. The connected car data market value is estimated to be $750 billion by 2030[³](https://www.mckinsey.com/~/media/mckinsey/industries/automotive%20and%20assembly/our%20insights/monetizing%20car%20data/monetizing-car-data.ashx).

ROADRUNR aims to unlock this multi billion dollar value opportunity by building the **first Web 3.0 car data network** on the blockchain injected with **game-fi elements** to supercharge the network.

ROADRUNR will be the first decentralised car connected network built on the blockchain unlocking car data value, incentivising safer and sustainable driving with crypto economic incentives and gamification features creating a fun yet financially rewarding experience at the same time. Through gamification and token earning, drivers are incentivised to adopt data driven services for a better driving experience and adopt greener forms of mobility (primarily shared and electric). ROADRUNR aims to build a car network on the blockchain that **reduces per-capita carbon emissions**, and develops data services that will lead to **safer and cost efficient driving** (leading to cheaper lifetime costs per vehicle).
